Shellgrit Reliquary
This work is by Alana Wilson, an Australian artist who works primarily with ceramics as her medium. The pale pink color and the coral-like glaze remind us of the ocean, which is her signature style of expression.
Starting from a very personal, small point, Alana's work leads to an inquiry into humanism through the existence of "vessels," which have always been a part of people's lives through tens of thousands of years of human activity, rise and fall.
From her solo exhibition "Planets, Mercies, & The Flow - Planets, Mercies, & The Flow" held at GALLERY crossing in 2020 .
