Karina Klages works primarily in ceramic, with a practice that also encompasses sculpture, photography and design. This form of working creates a visual and conceptual line between mediums and processes. Clay played an early role in her life, but only intensified as her medium at a later point in time. Klages studied communication design in Hanover, Germany. Her work is based on the symbiosis of perfection and imperfection of nature, on raw, changing surfaces and hidden beauty.
