When you pick it up or place it in a space, you suddenly feel "something good. Akiko Hayashi's glassware is created with this goal in mind.
As she says, her glassware may look simple at first glance, but it is the comfort of use that makes you pick it up in your daily life that appeals to you.
Akiko Hayashi has deepened only what she really thinks is good by making the same pieces all the time for about 10 years since the opening of her studio, instead of making many new ones. More comfortable and more beautiful appearance. The "something nice" glass that has been sharpened in this way gives a quiet, yet solid appearance, and gives a sudden impression to our daily life.
The smoky green color and soft molded lines of the glassware are beautiful, and can be used as an everyday drinking glass or to enjoy a drink or soda. The shadows cast by the glass on the table are also beautiful.

1997年〜2002年 大阪府大阪市 朝日硝子製作所勤務。 2002年〜2008年 大阪府和泉市 fresco勤務。2010年より岐阜県美濃加茂市にガラス工房qualia-glassworks（クオリアグラスワークス）を構え、吹きガラスによるうつわなどの制作を行う。シンプルな透明の作品は、吹きガラスならではの柔らかな質感があり、控えめでありながら美しい存在感が魅力。サイズや重さなど、細かな調整が繰り返された定番のうつわは、作家の目指す「ちょうどいい感じ」を体感できる使い心地。ペンダントライト、スタンドライトなどの照明作品も手がけている。GALLERY crossingでは毎年冬に個展を開催。
