When you pick it up or place it in a space, you suddenly feel "something good. Akiko Hayashi's glassware is created with this goal in mind.
As she says, her glassware may look simple at first glance, but it is the comfort of use that makes you pick it up in your daily life that appeals to you.
Akiko Hayashi has not created many new things, but has deepened only what she really thinks is good by continuing to create the same pieces for about 10 years since the opening of her studio. More comfortable and more beautiful appearance. The "something nice" glass that has been sharpened in this way gives a quiet yet solid appearance that suddenly impresses us in our daily lives.
The clear transparency and simple, minimalist design of each piece, produced one by one by mouth blow, are the essence of the glassware. They have a comfortable presence that blends beautifully with the surrounding scenery.

1997年〜2002年 大阪府大阪市 朝日硝子製作所勤務。 2002年〜2008年 大阪府和泉市 fresco勤務。2010年より岐阜県美濃加茂市にガラス工房qualia-glassworks（クオリアグラスワークス）を構え、吹きガラスによるうつわなどの制作を行う。シンプルな透明の作品は、吹きガラスならではの柔らかな質感があり、控えめでありながら美しい存在感が魅力。サイズや重さなど、細かな調整が繰り返された定番のうつわは、作家の目指す「ちょうどいい感じ」を体感できる使い心地。ペンダントライト、スタンドライトなどの照明作品も手がけている。GALLERY crossingでは毎年冬に個展を開催。
