Bowl LT Gray 02
Sunaikomi no Utsuwa" by Takayuki Watanabe, a potter who makes pottery in the mountains of Izunokuni City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The soft roundness of the shape, which is created by copying the form of natural stones onto the sand, has an appealing texture that makes you feel the temperature when you touch it.
The act of using the "soil" of the earth on which we stand and the "wood" that grows from it, burning the wood to convert its energy into "fire" and return it to the earth again. The pottery born from this process is, for Takayuki Watanabe, the very essence of life.
The natural presence of the leafy vessels has a stretch that makes the food served on them look cozy and comfortable, and each piece has a different beauty.
