I want to capture the beauty of the sky and the sea, and the breathtaking rush of feeling when encountering a beautiful landscape in a vase.
The " Landscape " series by Midori Uchida, with its beautiful scenery created by carbonizing and firing, is a series of vessels with a graceful appearance, combining hand-twisted forms and soft gradations. The silhouettes of the pieces, which are carefully built up over time, are gently rounded and shimmering, and the solid presence of the shapes gives a sense of richness, like looking at a work of sculpture.

1983年 神戸生まれ。2005年 大阪芸術大学工芸学科陶芸コース卒業。2007年 多治見市陶磁器意匠研究所修了。現在岐阜県にて制作。窯の火による偶然的な色彩・炭化焼成で生まれるグラデーションが、手捻りでつくられる造形と重なり、美しく、品のある佇まいを生み出す。 釉薬をかけない焼締は、手に取ったときに感じるきめ細やかな土肌の繊細な触感にも魅力がある。
